Platinum Arts Sandbox was the first game engine I ever used, and it opened up the world of 3D for me. I discovered Blender and learned 3D modeling because I wanted to create a character to use in this engine. This was back in the days before Unreal Engine and other free-to-use game engines existed. Discovering this engine was a game changer for me, and I’ve been doing 3D ever since. These are just some of the levels I created during my time using the engine, which taught me many fundamental concepts—everything from light baking, texturing and texture stretching, volumes and zones, to game entities, dynamic and static models, events, triggers, and much more! I believe that even today, this engine can be an invaluable tool for anyone looking to get started in game development.
