This project is a claymation I made for my high school Multimedia class! It’s old now, but I still view it with fondness because of how much fun I had making it. This animation also holds sentimental value due to the memories I have of my Multimedia teacher. She was incredibly dedicated and supportive, even though most of the class slacked off and used the time to play video games.
As the only student genuinely interested in learning, she gave me extra help and encouragement, going out of her way to purchase equipment, pay for software, and even rework the curriculum to better reflect my efforts in grading. Upon my graduation, she gifted me my first Wacom graphics tablet, which I still use frequently to this day.
Sometimes, even as a passionate teacher, your efforts can go unrewarded, especially when faced with students who aren't interested in learning and show no signs of ever-changing. However, despite how disheartening this might be, it’s those rare occasions when you encounter a dedicated and eager student that makes the struggle worthwhile.
On reflection I feel so proud and honored to have been one of those students for her, for now having been a teacher myself, I now understand. Reflecting on this project not only brings back many memories but also reveals new lessons to me.
